Prop Sourcing

On a project last year I assisted Amy with the art direction, having many of the costume requirements already in my possession, and she wanted me to similarly assist here this time around.
With the prospect of potentially having to completely furnish an interior living room at the Hope location and Amy's doubts about doing so in Budget I set about sourcing various items from friends to prove it could be possible and not look too cheaply done, knowing that the basement location we intended to use would provide much of this.

The dresser that provides the fatal head blow was already in my house so we would be free to bloody it if needs be.
The interchangeable sofa piece could be rearranged to suit our needs and covered with a throw.

Incase the bed on location has nothing for the character to be tied to.

The table definitely has the right aesthetic

As does this 'Morpheus' armchair the Wachowski siblings were kind enough to lend me

I also accompanied amy on some prop sourcing trips to Sheffield's antique quarter around the London Road area. There were  a number of great potential items but we had to be very budget-conscious and focus on the essential elements first.

Unfortunately this was note essential.

Though these weren't in the script they look and sound formidable, and we negotiated a bargain price of £1!
There were several crucifixes on offer, this was perhaps the best but a little more expensive than the others.
I'm sure we could shoe-horn in a sub-plot involving fishing monks at the lake in the first act.
